We plan to hold an information session this autumn at the Village Hall. This will include the opportunity to discuss the results and progress on the plan with members of the steering group and Parish Council.

What is a neighbourhood plan?
Creation of the Ickleford Neighbourhood Plan is an exciting project to allow residents, and those who use the Parish, to influence its future.
This planning document cannot contradict the North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) Local Plan, which outlines where NHDC allocates land for new homes. However, it can give us more say in any development that comes. It can also look at other aspects of village life.
If adopted, it becomes part of the statutory development plan for the area and must be considered by planners and developers. This gives it much more legal weight than other initiatives, such as the Parish Plan, although it may follow a similar approach to gaining residents’ opinions.
