Community policing is all about accessibility to the public. Intervention officers (those who deal with 999 calls on a 24 hour basis) are not always able to make follow-up visits due to operational commitments. Community team officers are available to undertake follow-up visits, investigations, crime prevention surveys and various other tasks during their working day. A Police Community Support Officer will be appointed for Ickleford in the coming months.

Rands Educational Foundation supports young people under the age of 25 in Ickleford, Holwell, Pirton and Stondon. A range of financial support is offered through the award of grants to individuals, educational establishments and voluntary organisations.
