Ickleford Village Hall
The Village Hall is opening again after a long shutdown due to Covid-19. It is managed by a team of local volunteers.
We are currently looking for new members from the community to help us run this thriving village hub. If you would like to join the committee or require more information, please contact us as below.
Additionally, we are looking for a new Treasurer. If you have IT skills, some accounting experience and would like to help your local community, please contact us. Training will be given by the outgoing Treasurer.
By joining the committee you will become part of a successfull team giving back to the local community and supporting the village.

Village Hall Art Competition
The Ickleford Art Competition is open to children between the ages four and sixteen and will be split into 4 to 6 years, 7 to 11 years, and 12 to 16 years. The winning entry will be put on display at Ickleford Village Hall for a year. The theme for the picture, after such a trying year is…..
‘Things That Make Me Happy!’
The picture can be any size up to A3 (approx. 29cm x 42cm). There will be a winner in each age group who will receive art equipment as their prize and an overall winner who will be displayed in the village hall.
Closing Date for Entries – June 30th 2021
Judging – a panel of 3 judges will choose the 10 finalists in each age group and they will go on display at Ickleford Village Hall on 4th July 1pm to 4pm. The public will be able to vote on the pictures they would like to win by placing 10p (per vote) in the collection pot by the picture. You can vote as many times as you want. The money collected will be donated to Helping Little Heart Beats, raising funds for specialist heart equipment for the paediatric unit at the Lister Hospital.
Terms and conditions:
Open to all children aged 4 to 16 years old.
Pictures must be flat.
One entry per child.
All entries must have the artist’s name, age, date of birth, parent/ carers email and phone number clearly printed on the back of the picture.
Only entries conforming to the above will be accepted.

Hertfordshire County Council – Highways – Temporary Closing of Arlesey Road, Ickleford. Order No.2 2021
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Arlesey Road, Ickleford from a point 100 metres north east of its junction with Lower Green south eastwards, north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Ickleford Public Bridleway No.023, a distance of approximately 350 metres (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Arlesey Road, Turnpike Lane, A600 Bedford Road, A505 (Fishpond Road/Bunyan Road/Nightingale Road/Cambridge Road), Stotfold Road, Wilbury Hills Road, Arlesey New Road and Arlesey Road.
The Order is needed because vegetation removal works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 June 2021 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).

Building works at St Katharine’s Church
Completion of the works is now due at the end of July or beginning of August. The delay was caused by supply issues but work has been progressing well since April. The contractors will remove the site office as soon as possible and repair the grass where the container is situated.

Parking at Ickleford School
Residents are reminded that the Burial Ground car park is available for parking at school drop-off and pick-up times – it is a very short walk from there to Upper Green along the path. Please do not park on yellow lines or on the grass verges.
