Footpath 20 Scheduled Works
Please take care when walking across the raised walkways along Footpath 20 – this runs from Gerry’s Hole to Cadwell Bridge, shown by the lilac line on the map. The boardwalk is damaged with some broken and missing slats, and the wire cover is shredded in places causing a potential trip hazard.
The Parish Council has reported this to Herts County Council who have assessed and closed off as much of the boardwalk as possible whilst still leaving access through the fencing. The footpath remains open, but it does mean that users will need to walk through the wet ground at the side of the boardwalk until it can be replaced. Please take care when walking here, especially as the wet and muddy conditions mean it is likely to be slippery.
