Local Elections
Residents can apply to become a Parish or District Councillor in Ickleford this year. Current Councillors must also apply if they wish to be re-elected. Elections will be held on May 4th; a poll will only be held for contested elections (if there are more than 8 candidates for the Parish Council or more than one candidate for the District Councillor, Cadwell Ward). Candidates must:
- Be over 18 years of age
- Be a British, Commonwealth or EU citizen
- Be an elector
- Have resided in Ickleford or within three miles of it or occupied as an owner or tenant land or premises therein or has their principal place of work there
Each nomination form must include a proposer and a seconder, both of whom must live in Ickleford. The polling district and elector number details for both will be required, and can be obtained by emailing the Parish Clerk, Judith Crosier, with full names and addresses of the proposer and seconder, at clerk@ickleford-pc.gov.uk
All information will be treated in the utmost confidence and personal data will not be retained for any longer than is necessary.

Nomination forms and consent forms must be returned to the Council Offices at Gernon Road, Letchworth, SG6 3JF by hand by 4pm on 4th April, although it is strongly advised to deliver them in advance of this date. Please book an appointment in advance to return your forms on elections@north-herts.gov.uk
It is advisable to request an informal check of your forms before submission; send to elections@north-herts.gov.uk
All voters in person at the polling station must have a form of photo ID such as a passport, driving licence or senior bus pass. Anyone without photo ID can apply for a free voter ID document (Voter Authority Certificate): visit http://electoralcommission.org.uk/voterID or call 0800 328 0280 or scan the QR code on the poster below.
