Royal Mail Services in Ickleford

Royal Mail services in Ickleford
The Parish Council has received reports from residents regarding a lack of deliveries to their properties, with nothing at all received in over 10 days in some cases.
The local Royal Mail Delivery Office has reported that many local postmen and women are unwell and unable to work, and this has caused unavoidable delays in mail being delivered.
The situation is being managed and no property should have a delivery delay of more than 7 days. If you have experienced more than 7 days with no delivery at all, OR if you are waiting for a specific letter which is important – such as a medical appointment – please call 03457 740740 so that your issue can be logged individually and the post that you need can be sourced and delivered as soon as possible. There is a long wait time for the call to be dealt with by a member of the customer services team but if you hold, you will get through eventually.

  1. Thank you for this information on failed deliveries. I’ve sent a complaint to customer services, but had no response from Royal Mail. Phone calls to the number given have to wait over an hour, so this is, in practice, another obstacle to the contact promised. Couldn’ t they offer customers the courtesy of an explanatory email?

    • We too have had no post at all since the 18th December. That means a lot of Xmas cards and also a couple of results of hospital tests.
Like you, I contacted the number on the Parish Council website but it cut me off without allowing me to speak to anyone.
Is there any update on this at all? It is more than frustrating now.

      • We are sorry that the problems are ongoing. The Parish Council has no further update as of 1.1.22 but we will try to contact the Royal Mail customer service team again next week. In the meantime, the only advice is to keep trying the contact number with details of mail that is urgently required.
