Vacancy for Clerk to Ickleford Burial Ground Trust

Ickleford Burial Ground Trust, which owns and operates the Alleyfield burial ground in Ickleford, has a vacancy for a Clerk to the Trust. This paid role involves assisting the Trustees in the day-to day management and operation of Alleyfield, liaising with families, funeral directors and the like. This is a part-time role which will typically involve 5 to 15 hours per month and include at least two trustee meetings a year lasting around 90 minutes each. This role is remunerated on an hourly basis with the starting rate set within the band of £12.00 to £14.25 per hour according to the experience of the incumbent. This rate is reviewed annually by the trustees.

A Christmas message and a request from Herts Police OWL service

As 2021 draws to a close, we reflect on the year gone by. Communities across Hertfordshire have once again faced significant challenges and losses, and we want to thank every single person who has stepped up and supported their neighbours, loved ones, and colleagues throughout the year. Every small act makes a difference, especially in difficult times.

With many people facing isolation and loneliness again this season, we ask you to consider not who is my neighbour, but how is my neighbour, and support them how you can (always prioritising your own safety of course). 

Thank you to all our Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators that provide us with invaluable help and to you, the community.

Emergency Services Police Support Volunteer Vacancies
A new and exciting volunteering opportunity has arisen in the Stevenage area. We are looking for a number of volunteers to bring their energy and enthusiasm to join a newly created team of volunteers, that will support both the Fire & Police Service.

This innovative new role volunteer role will initially be for a twelve-month pilot and some of the key tasks will include:

• Support officers and staff at community events, providing advice on fire safety and crime prevention.
• Carrying out safety checks within the local community to identify hazards and report them to the local fire and police teams
• Carry out ‘Safe and Well’ visits, providing fire safety and crime prevention advice to members of the public
• Supporting officers by carrying out searches in the local area in certain missing person enquiries

We are looking for individuals who are committed, with good interpersonal skills, computer literate and able to undertake training on Police systems.

The Volunteer Scheme welcomes applications from across the county and will reimburse travelling expenses up to 15 miles from the volunteering location.
