A Moment of Reflection on the Eve of the Funeral of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
On Sunday 18th September, a minute’s silence will be observed across the United Kingdom, in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.
People across the nation and Commonwealth will be invited to come together at 8pm BST or equivalent local times for an opportunity to reflect on the life and legacy of the Queen.
There will be a Moment of Reflection event at Ickleford Village Hall, for residents who wish to come together in person to mark the minute’s silence.
Equally, the silence can be marked privately at home on your own or with friends and family, or in the street with neighbours.
The hall will be open from 7.30pm, and the Chairman of the Parish Council, Ray Blake, will lead the proceedings, in place of Reverend Mary de Salis, who has had the honour of being asked to be part of the chaplaincy team for the queue in London on Sunday. The proceedings will be official guidance below; words to the National Anthem will be provided.

By 19.55 members of the community will gather at the village hall.
At 19.58 the convenor of the event will say a few words.
At 20.00 the convenor of the event will announce the beginning of the silence.
