Dog waste bins at the Recreation Ground
There have been reports in recent weeks about dog waste bags being left on the football and cricket pitch, and the waste bins overflowing. Some residents have contacted the Parish Council asking why the bins are not being emptied more often. They are emptied weekly, but the bins are being filled up in a few days. Please take waste home if the bins are full, or use the dog waste bin on F/P7 on Snailswell Lane, or alternatively a general litter bin (but please not the litter bins in the play area). Thank you for your cooperation.
Herts Police OWL Message: Scam affecting Whatsapp users
‘We are again warning residents to be wary of WhatsApp messages which appear to be from relatives asking for money to be sent to them. Our Victim Fraud Case Manager has alerted us to 28 reports during August where local residents have lost money after having been targeted on WhatsApp by criminals pretending to be someone they know – typically their son or daughter.
The criminals will usually begin the message with “Hello Mum” or “Hello Dad” and will say that they are texting from a different mobile number because their usual phone has been lost or damaged. Some say they accidentally dropped their phone down the toilet. They will then ask for money to purchase a new phone, or claim that they need money urgently to pay a bill.
The criminal will then provide bank details for the payment to be made. This is a scam.
Protect your money:
• STOP. THINK. CALL. If a family member or friend makes an unusual request on WhatsApp, always call the person to confirm their identity.
• Never share your Whatsapp account’s activation code (that’s the 6 digit code you receive via SMS)

The light in the alley way between St Katherine’s close and Bedford Road is still out. Could we please look into it as it is a safety measure at night . Thankyou in advance.
This light was reported to Highways when you first reported it to the Parish Council. Unfortunately Highways don’t update the PC on their progress. Residents can and are encouraged to also report faults directly to HCC on https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/services/highways-roads-and-pavements/report-a-problem/report-a-highway-fault/what-type-of-fault-are-you-reporting.aspx
